Lifetime Warranty
Makaira Boats guarantees the fabrication of the aluminum hull in normal recreational use for a period of 25 years (“a Lifetime Warranty”). Any modification to the boat undertaken by the owner or their representative will void the Boat Builders Warranty.
Transfer of Warranty
In the event that the Customer should sell the Boat within the 25-year period, then the second owner of the Boat shall have the benefit of the Warranty for a maximum of ten years. Any modification to the boat undertaken by the owner or their representative will void the Boat Builders Warranty.
Components Warranty
Goods and other components of the Boat that are not manufactured by the Builder, but are subject to a warranty provided by the manufacturer or supplier of such goods or components, shall (to the extent that the Builder is able to do so by law) make such warranties available to the Customer. Any disputes, if unable to be resolve by both parties will proceed through the mediation process.
Warranty Claim
In the event of a warranty claim, Makaira Boats must be notified immediately, and the vessel must cease being used. For warranty claims, the boat must be “returned to base” (29c Koropewa Road, Waipapa) so that Makaira Boats can rectify the issue. A third party cannot be approached to complete any work associated with a warranty claim unless written consent is given by Makaira Boats. Any work carried out by a third party without consent will not be reimbursed by Makaira Boats. Work carried out by third parties will void the boat builder’s warranty.
