Makaira boats are designed and built in our purpose built factory in Northland . On-water performance is our core focus, and high quality craftsmanship and finish is what we deliver.

8mm 5083 Non Developable Warped Aluminium hulls

Our hulls use 8mm 5083 marine grade plates, with full depth Intercoastal Frames and Girders. Captive buoyancy is created amongst the structural grid by fully welding all seams. Our Non developable warped hulls have a variable dead rise which produces a soft riding and stable vessel.

Our hulls are designed around Lloyds structural standards and have a limited lifetime warranty

Our hull plate thickness, frame, girder and stringer spacing is designed to meet Lloyds Register Special Service Craft (SSC) requirements. We offer a limited lifetime warranty for all our hulls.

Built entirely in-house

All aspects of a boat build are completed in house from cutting plate on our own CNC Router right through to paint, upholstery and complete fit-out of the boat. We don't leave anything to chance.

Designed by qualified Naval Architects

Our hulls are designed by Qualified Naval Architects, using Naval Architecture and Engineering software packages. Comprehensive weight and balance studies are performed, static and running trim are analysed, and structural loads (including slamming pressures) are evaluated to ensure our boats outperform and outlast our competition.

Prioritising on-water performance

Our aim is to set the standard in offshore performance. Constantly refining our boat's performance to make sure we meet this goal.

Quality materials

We have an uncompromised approach to using the best materials that are available from start to finish. We only use European mill sourced 5083 H116 plate that meets B.V, D.N.V or Lloyds certification.
